THANK YOU!!

Creating a t-shirt design from start to finish always seemed to be a "that would be cool...I should do that..." thought. Thanks to your support, it finally happened! This design was a result of conversations with others, and my own processing, about the world we live in and the fact we're all out here trying to do our best in whatever realm we are in. It is very easy to worry about uncertainty or simply unknown parts of the future. I can only speak for myself in finding a sense of revitalized optimism and motivation - even if it's just a shred - when reminded that the only thing we can control is our attitude and action as we continue into the unknown.

This was also a great trial period for future wearable work!! I already have a few more projects underway and am very excited to start sharing updates as the visions continue to come together.

Seeing these on others is surreal but so exciting. Thank you again for your continued support!

SPOTLIGHT

Photos by Sami

Based in New England, Samantha Lombardo is the creative force behind Photos by Sami—a wedding photography business focused on storytelling and creating heirloom photographs. After leaving college, she launched her business at 19 during the COVID-19 pandemic, initially as a “side-hustle” that quickly evolved into a full-time passion. Specializing in both digital and film photography, Sami’s true-to-tone style is deeply rooted in emotion, capturing everything from the grand “I do” moments to the quiet, candid in-betweens.

While weddings are at the core of her work, her true passion lies in storytelling—transforming fleeting moments into timeless treasures to be passed down for generations.

Photography has taken her on rewarding adventures: discovering new destinations, connecting with incredible people, chasing the perfect light, and immortalizing memories and telling stories that last a lifetime. Whether she’s shooting in the mountains, along the coast, or in a cozy backyard, Sami is dedicating to celebrating love in all its forms and ensuring each couple feels truly seen.

Tips for starting artists:

Writing an Artist Statement

As you apply to events and popups, you will find that oh-so-fun requirement to share a bit about yourself and your work. Creating an effective 'elevator pitch' previewing what you're all about gives a glimpse of your work's compatibility to the event.

Start with who you are and what you do. Keep it strong and simple. "I am a __ who creates __". (Usually one sentence).

Where is the soul? Motivation? Where do you find joy in creating or sharing your art with others? Why do you do what you do? "My mission __." "I aim to __." (1-2 sentences).

Give a glimpse about your process. Is there a genre, style, technique, or something unique in your approach? "I layer __ ." (1-2 sentences)

The most important rule: Keep it simple! Imagine you're explaining your work to a friend who is curious. Don't fall heavily into jargon or extra adjective use. Confidence and passion in what you do shines with an honest and simple description.
