Somewhere between creating, planning, living, and all the little details that fill the spaces in between, the Busy Mind newsletter got lost in the flow.

In re-centering: this monthly(ish) newsletter is about sharing stories behind new work, the people I meet along the way, and nuggets of information that hopefully 'pay it forward' to those curious about starting to share their own art.
This year, I placed a larger focus on gallery shows and (attempted to narrow down) event applications. These challenges led me to branch into new areas of RI, meet new people and hear their incredible experiences in sharing their work.
I even got the chance to formally talk about my process in this cute little documentary by Fifty6 Studios!
Wickford Art Festival was the debut of both a new booth setup AND many new pieces that branched out from my usual style. That will always be one of my favorite events.
With the re-start of Busy Mind, I'm also eager to bring you along for the ride that is prepping for fall and winter market season. 🤯
It always feels a little weird to be thinking ahead to colder weather and holiday shopping. Every year, I tell myself I'm going to try to make "relevant" art for the holiday seasons... but the idea of "locking in" on winter themes and taking precious time from truly enjoying warmth, sun, and the outdoors makes me feel guilty. Living in New England, you just can't take good weather for granted. Regardless, now is generally the window for holiday applications!
August: a good mix of getting out and talking about art with others, as well as getting in some live-painting time. I'm especially excited to re-visit Warren Folks Fest!
September is for re-calibrating.
October - December: the heat is on.
As of this moment, the schedule is updated. There may be a few more additions - fingers crossed!
